A stroll in Elora leads to charges for Harriston man

He was found in possession of property that still had security tags. Investigation revealed that this property had been stolen from two local stores

On Dec. 2, 2017 at approximately 11:25 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious person regarding a male walking in the roadway in downtown Elora. Police located the male and arrested him for being intoxicated in a public place. He was transported to a local detachment for processing.

A search incident to arrest located some property on the male that still had security tags on it. Investigation revealed that this property had been stolen from two local stores.

Fifty-eight-year-old James Snow of Harriston has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place, and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 29, 2017 to answer to the charges.
