A Guelph man faces weapons charges after he was reportedly seen waving a sword around last Thursday.

Guelph police were sent to Macdonell Street near Carden Street approximately 7:15 p.m. A man was located and found to have a sword concealed in his overalls. He was arrested, and a search incident to arrest revealed two small containers with suspected fentanyl.

A 25-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a controlled substance and several counts of breaching court orders. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in a Guelph court July 12.
