Afternoon collision closes eastbound lanes of Stone Road

One driver was charged and two people were sent to hospital with minor injuries as a result of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Gordon St. and Stone Rd. early Tuesday afternoon.

A collision involving two vehicles closed the eastbound lanes of Stone Road early Tuesday afternoon east of Chancellor's Way to Gordon Street.

Acting Traffic Sgt. Dan Mosey said the Guelph Police Service received the call for the two-vehicle collision at 12:38 p.m.

A Honda sedan with moderate front end damage and an activated airbag was stopped on the outer southbound lane of Gordon Street and blocking the two eastbound lanes of Stone Road.

A second vehicle, a Chevrolet sedan, was seen parked further south on Gordon Street with some damage to the front driver's side.

One of the drivers was charged with Turn Not In Safety, said Mosey, and two people were sent to hospital with minor injuries.
