On Oct. 26, 2017 at approximately 6:30 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a serious collision on Wellington Road 6, South of Mount Forest.
A southbound vehicle was overtaking a tractor trailer on a hill when it collided head-on with a north bound vehicle. The tractor trailer avoided the collision. Fire and ambulance services attended and treated both drivers for serious injuries. Both drivers were transported to local hospital with serious injuries before the northbound driver was airlifted to a trauma centre. There were no other injuries reported.
As a result of the investigation, the OPP has charge 37-year-old Dwayne Andrew Allen Reide of Fergus with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 20, 2017.
