In June 2013, the Guelph Police Service initiated a break and enter investigation. In July 2013 police responded to a vehicle theft call. Investigation lead to the identification of the same suspect for both incidents.

On March 2, 2018, Guelph police attended to a Norwich Street address and located the suspect. Jacob Duquette, a 24-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000, attempt theft of a motor vehicle and break and enter.

After he was arrested, it is alleged that there was a weapon on his person (pepper spray). The 24-year-old was further charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, breaching a weapons prohibition and five counts of breaching his probation order.

He was held for a bail hearing.
