Altercation at downtown bar ends in arrest

At 11 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2016 police responded to a report of a patron at a downtown bar who had an altercation with bar staff and threatened them with a sharp edged weapon.

No one was hurt during the altercation and when police arrived to investigate, the responsible male was located nearby and taken into custody.

Nandor Szipocs, 58 years old of Guelph, is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and uttering threats.

He was released with a promise to appear before the court in January.
