Guelph police are investigating after two males stole tools Wednesday from a downtown building under renovation.

Police were called to the building Thursday morning. They were advised contractors working on the building use a main-floor room to store their tools but have not been locking the door as they are frequently coming and going from the room.

Video surveillance showed two males around the building Wednesday trying doors before one of them enters the storage room and exits a short time later with a bag of tools.

The victim estimated the tools’ value at approximately $2,000.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Denver Staines at 519-824-1212, ext. 7166, email him at [email protected], leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
