A dispute about the price of cigars led to criminal charges against a Guelph man Sunday evening.
Shortly after 6 p.m. police were called to a business near Victoria Road South and Arkell Road. A clerk advised a male came in to purchase cigars and became angry about the price, yelling and swearing before throwing several items at the clerk.
The clerk followed him outside in an attempt to record his licence plate. The male threatened to run him over and quickly accelerated his vehicle towards the victim, causing him to take evasive action to avoid being struck.
A 64-year-old man was located at his residence and arrested for assault with a weapon and dangerous driving.
