Arrest made in downtown assault investigation

On Jan. 16, 2020 at 8:11 p.m., the Guelph Police Service were notified about an adult male who had just been assaulted in an apartment building located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. The male had refused to let a group of six or seven people enter his building. When he tried to shut the door an adult male kneed him in the jaw and struck him in the face, breaking his glasses. The group then left the area.

On Jan. 25, at 10:14 p.m., the police located the responsible male in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. He was subsequently arrested.

A 28-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Assault
    •    Forcible entry
    •    Mischief under $5,000
    •    Breach probation

He will appear in court on March 13, 2020.
