A Guelph man has been arrested in connection with a gunpoint robbery last month.

On May 14, approximately 6:40 p.m., two men were walking in the area of Edinburgh Road North and Willow Road when they were approached by two other males. The suspects brandished a handgun and knife and robbed the victims of cash, jewelry and clothing items. The victims were not physically injured.

On Wednesday Guelph Police Service officers executed a search warrant at a north-end residence and arrested a male. During a search of the residence, officers located approximately $2,500 worth of cocaine separated into small packages as well as unused baggies, a scale, cash and several cellphones.

A 31-year-old man is charged with robbery and possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday. The investigation is ongoing.
