A Guelph man, 27, faces numerous charges in relation to a Monday morning attack on a senior with her granddaughter.
The incident happened in the area of Woolwich Street and Mac Avenue, south of Speedvale Avenue as a woman in her 60s was waiting with her granddaughter for a school bus. A man, unknown to her, struck the woman in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground.
He then fled on foot.
The victim didn’t seek medical attention, a police news release states.
A suspect was subsequently identified and police made an arrest in the downtown area on Thursday evening.
The accused faces one count of assault and three counts of breach of probation.
