Arrest warrants executed following discovery of tent city

On Aug. 15, 2018 at approximately 4 p.m., Guelph Police were advised by a member of the community of a tent city located in the bush area near 599 York Road. Police located the site, arrested two people and seized several items that were believed to be stolen property.

A 23-year-old Guelph female has been charged with obstruct police after giving police a false name. She also had three warrants for her arrest. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Aug. 16, 2018.

A 41-year-old Guelph male was arrested on a warrant. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Aug. 16, 2018.

Please do not call police to inquire about the seized stolen property as the aspect of ownership will be investigated.
