Arrest made after vehicle takes a shot from suspected pellet gun

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - Today at approximately 3 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a 9-1-1 call from a motorist on Highway 6, north of Fergus. The occupants of the vehicle reported that the driver of a red Honda Accord had pointed a gun at them as they were passing by him by Sideroad 15. Police now believe that this was a pellet gun. The suspect then shot at the victim's vehicle hitting the passenger side mirror and leaving a dent in the door. The victim was able to pull off the road and call police.

The victim and suspect had no previous interaction and were not known to each other.

Officers located the suspect and vehicle in downtown Fergus on St. Andrews Street. During the arrest contact was made between the suspect vehicle and a marked cruiser causing damage to both vehicles. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and transported to a local detachment for investigation.

There were no injuries to anyone involved.
