Man charged after assaulting neighbor

Two residents of a Woolwich Street building have not had the best of relationships and on the morning of April 20, there was a confrontation between the two neighbours in the hallway.

One of the men took his cane and struck the other man in the head and hand causing lacerations which required some minor medical attention.

The 73-year-old suspect left in his wheelchair and was located a short distance away by police.

He was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and was released to appear in court at a later date.
