Assault victim beaten with metal bar after falling 10 feet from ladder: Police

On Sept. 28, 2019, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred on Elgin Street South in the town of Mount Forest.

It was reported that the victim had fallen approximately 10' when the ladder they were working on had been forced to the ground. The victim was then struck numerous times with a metal bar. It was also reported that the assailant had been concealing their identity but witness accounts identified the vehicle that the assailant fled in. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

OPP were able to locate the vehicle and arrest the [alleged] assailant. As a result of the investigation, Bradley H. Lacombe, 49-year-old of Mount Forest is charged with aggravated assault, disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held for bail.
