Attempted murder charge laid following incident in east Guelph

On Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 at approximately 6:06 a.m., Guelph Police attended to a private residence on the east side of the city in regards to an ongoing incident. As a result of the incident, a 24-year-old-male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The male was then transferred to a Regional Trauma Centre where he underwent surgery. He is presently in stable condition.

A 20-year-old male was located shortly after the incident and arrested for aggravated assault. After the initial investigation into the incident, he has been further charged with attempt murder and weapons dangerous.

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Feb. 14th.
