Backyard lurkers reported to police. Two suspects arrested

On May 2, 2018 at approximately 11 p.m., Guelph police were contacted by a concerned citizen, who observed two males allegedly going through backyards in the area of Paisley Road and Alma Street North. Fifteen minutes later, a person residing on Paisley Road contacted police alleging two males entered the backyard of the house and went into a detached garage.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., police were able to locate the suspects in this incident and arrest them. Peter Debreczeni, a 24-year-old Guelph male, was charged with break and enter, trespass by night, possession of break-in instruments and three counts of breaching his probation order.

Barry Robert, a 34-year-old Guelph male, was charged with break and enter, trespass by night, possession of a controlled substance and breaching his probation order.

Both individuals were given a June 12, 2018 court date.
