TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On August 18, 2019 at approximately 9:15 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a bar fight at an address on Queen Street West in Fergus.
Investigation revealed that a verbal altercation occurred between two patrons that escalated and turned physical.
As a result, the 39-year-old victim from Fergus suffered a laceration and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The suspect fled the scene and later turned himself into police.
Cory Allen Kelly, 37 years old of Guelph has been charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and will appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 17, 2019 to answer to the charge.
