Barking dog alerts owner to vehicle theft in progress

On Dec. 12, 2019 at 4:14 a.m., a resident awoke to her dog barking. She attended downstairs to see what caused the dog to bark and watched as her 2016 red Dodge Caravan was being driven out of the driveway of her residence located near the intersection of Auden Road and Grange Road in the City of Guelph.

Numerous pieces of property were in the vehicle including two sets of youth hockey equipment (mostly Bauer), adult female Bauer skates, adult hockey stick, adult hockey helmet, and Guelph Predators yellow and grey ringette youth jerseys.

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to lock your vehicles, keep your valuables out of sight and never leave a key inside your vehicle.
