TOWNSHIP OF ERIN - On Jan. 5, 2020, at approximately 6:25 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and the Town of Erin Fire Services responded to a serious two-motor vehicle collision on Trafalgar Road near Side Road 17 in the Town of Erin.
Investigation revealed that a southbound sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with a northbound sedan. The driver of the sedan, Jayson Alexander Waddell, 36-years-old of Caledon was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, Ishaka Simran Parvini Maharah, 19-years-old of Barrie has been charged with dangerous operation causing death contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on July 31, 2020 to answer to the charge.
