BC woman charged with impaired following Guelph hit-and-run

A British Columbia woman was arrested for impaired driving following a hit and run in Guelph Tuesday, Guelph police report.

They say that approximately 2:35 p.m. a motorist was rear-ended at a red light on Woolwich Street at Marilyn Drive. No injuries were reported. The suspect vehicle left the area, but not before witnesses got a photo of the licence plate. The vehicle was located on Norfolk Street and the driver was showing signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the police station, where testing confirmed she had more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

A 53-year-old from Victoria, BC, is charged with impaired operation and failing to stop at a collision. Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
