Bicycle rider falls into the Speed River

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 26, police, fire and ambulance personnel were called to the area of the Speed River and Arthur Street near the railway overpass.

A 26-year-old Guelph man had been riding a bicycle along the railway tracks when he somehow lost balance and fell into the river below.

The male was rescued from the river and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
