Man veers car into oncoming traffic

At approximately 5:05 p.m. on Apr. 30, a Guelph woman was driving on Gordon Street with her brother in the front passenger seat.

The brother was quite agitated with her and grabbed the steering wheel of the car, forcing it to go completely across the oncoming lane of traffic. The woman braked hard and stopped short of striking a utility pole.

Police came across the vehicle and spoke to the woman.

Investigation resulted in the 32-year-old man from Guelph being arrested at the scene and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of uttering threats and two counts of breach of probation.

He was held in custody to appear in bail court today.
