Just after 6 p.m. on Nov. 30, a 2013 Ford Fiesta was northbound on the Hanlon Parkway and turned right onto Stone Road West when it mounted the centre median and struck a light standard. The driver received minor abrasions from the collision.

Interaction with the driver of the vehicle led police to believe that his ability to operate his motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver registered a “fail” reading on the approved roadside screening device and was arrested. Subsequent testing at the station also registered readings above the legal limit.

Lance Brody, a 28-year-old Guelph man was charged with operate motor vehicle - over .80mgs and later released to appear in court in January 2018.
