Cart crash caught on tape during alleged shoplifting at Fergus Walmart (update)

Wellington County OPP are looking for a suspect after an incident caught on video at the Fergus Walmart last month.

In the video (embedded below), which was posted to an OPP Twitter account this morning, a woman with dark hair can be seen wheeling a shopping cart away from the store before stumbling and crashing the cart into a curb.

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the assistance of the public in identifying a female involved in an attempted theft from a retail store on Highway 6, Fergus.

On Apr. 26, 2017 at approximately 8 p.m. a woman was caught on camera trying to make off with $651.55 of stolen items in a cart, but fell short.

Staff at the store recognized the woman from another theft days earlier involving $2,494.24 of product.

In both incidents the woman was assisted by unidentified suspects and part of a theft ring.

The woman is described as white, 40-years-old to 50-years-old, 165lbs long black hair with glasses, wearing a light long sleeve shirt, black pants, and has a tattoo on her back. She may also have minor injuries to her left side sustained during a fall when fleeing staff.

Her accomplices are known to be 2 men and 3 women described as below.

Male 1 - white, 30-years-old to 40-years-old with short dark hair wearing dark sunglasses and a dark short sleeve shirt with blue jeans
Male 2 - white, 30-years-old to 40-years-old wearing a red/white ball cap, a light colored sweater and khaki pants
Female 1 - white, 20-years-old to 30-years-old wearing all black and is prone to concealing her face
Female 2 - white, 20-years-old to 30-years-old with long dark hair wearing a white shirt and black pants
Female 3 - white, 20-years-old to 30-years-old with long blond hair wearing a black sweater and black pants.

OPP is asking the public for their assistance in identifying the suspect caught on camera attempting to flee the store with a full cart.
