One person has been charged after an alleged assault that occurred after two dogs got into a fight.
On Jan. 27 at around 5:15 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to an assault at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields on Woodlawn Road East.
It was reported that one person was assaulted by another person after their pets had been in an altercation.
The victim declined medical attention and there were no reports of injuries to any animal, police said in a news release.
The Wellington County OPP released a photo of one of the persons involved in an attempt to identify them and thanked the public who came forward to assist with the investigation.
As a result of the investigation a 40-year-old Guelph man has been charged with assault, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
