Child on pocket bike sustains minor injuries in ATV collision

OPP say the child and the adult operating the ATV were wearing appropriate safety equipment

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Aug. 26, 2017 approximately 6 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue responded to collision involving a child operating a pocket bike and an adult male operating an ATV. The collision occurred on private property at an address on Sideroad 30, Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

Investigation revealed that the child was operating the pocket bike and exited a private trail and ran into a family member operating an ATV. This all occurred on private property.

The 7-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and was transported by Guelph-Wellington EMS to a local hospital. The operator of the ATV was not injured. Both parties were wearing appropriate safety equipment.
