Citizen report of suspicious person leads to arrest

Nov. 30, 2017 at approximately 10:20 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious party who had entered a vehicle on a property on Third Line of Erin and left on foot. While on route to the call police received a second complaint from an address nearby of a similar occurrence.

OPP attended the area and spoke with the complainants who advised the suspect had moved southbound on Third Line and entered the area of Halton Regional Police.

OPP coordinated with Halton Regional Police who had a male in custody. OPP attended and re-arrested the male.

Twenty-four-year-old Joshua Gosse of Brockton has been charged by OPP with two counts of trespass by night and one count of mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Jan. 2, 2018 to answer to the charges.

A search incident to arrest located some property on the male that is believed to have been taken from vehicles of unknown victims. OPP are asking that anyone in the area of Third Line in Erin that may have had property taken from their vehicles on the night of Nov. 30, 2017 to contact Constable Mike Martin at 1-888-310-1122.
