Collision at Woodlawn and Elmira Road North sends one to hospital

On March 26, 2018, at approximately 8:30 a.m., emergency services were called to the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Elmira Road North where there were reports of a serious collision.

It is alleged a Honda CRV, being driven by an 82-year-old Guelph female, ran a red light at the intersection. The vehicle then collided with a Mazda 6 being driven by a 65-year-old Elora female. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Honda was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Mazda sustained no injuries.

The driver of the Honda, an 82-year-old Guelph female, was charged with running a red light and fail to stop under the Highway Traffic Act.
