Collision sends four to hospital

On Thursday Jan. 5, 2017 shortly after noon, a red Dodge minivan travelling east on Grange road at Watson Parkway North struck a grey Audi four door automobile. The Audi then struck a blue Ford Escape travelling in the opposite direction. The minivan left the roadway and hit a traffic control pole.

The driver of the Ford and all three people in the Dodge were transported to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries.

All three vehicles sustained severe damage, estimated at a total of $40,000. Damage to the traffic control pole is estimated at $10,000.

The driver of the Dodge, a 35-year-old woman from Guelph, was charged with Red light- Fail to Stop, according to the Highway Traffic Act section 144(18).   

Further investigation revealed that the 39 year old Guelph male driver of the Ford, was driving with a suspended driver’s license and charged for that offence as well.

Police investigated four other collisions during the day and charges were laid in all of them.
