Concerned citizen calls in suspicious vehicle, charges laid

On Aug. 27, 2017, at 1:56 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Guelph Police Service about a suspicious vehicle that had just left a gas bar in the west end of the city and the driver was believed to be impaired. 

A short while later the male driver, a 43-year-old Guelph resident, was observed driving erratically by police. The driver was observed speeding, mounting a curb and driving on the grass on Ferguson Street, nearly striking pedestrians.

The driver was not impaired but arrested and charged with several offences.

A 43-year-old Guelph male was charged with breach recognizance, breach probation (x2), and dangerous driving and drive suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

He was held for a bail hearing.
