Cyclist charged following collision

On Aug. 9, 2017 at 7:15 p.m., Guelph police were called to the intersection of Silvercreek and Willow, where there was a report that a cyclist had been struck.

Police determined a vehicle was making a left turn, obeying a displayed left arrow and it is alleged that a cyclist was riding his bicycle through the crosswalk at that time.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Guelph male was charged with cyclist riding through crosswalk under the Highway Traffic Act.

There were no injuries in this collision and there was minimal damage.
