On June 9, 2019 at approximately 6:50 p.m., a white Hyundai Genesis was southbound on Victoria Road North just south of Eramosa Road. The driver lost control and drove into a hydro pole, shearing it off. The vehicle then became airborne and flipped on to its roof and struck a nearby home. The 21-year-old Guelph male driver and his passenger miraculously were not injured.

Police believe speed was a factor and the investigation is ongoing. The total damages are estimated at $300,000. No one in the house was injured.
