Just before 8 p.m. on Sept. 24, police responded to a disturbance at a Paisley Road address and learned that a male had (allegedly) been assaulted there.

When police attempted to arrest the responsible male, he struggled with police and at one point tried to take one of the arresting officer’s conducted energy weapon (taser) from its belt holster. Another officer deployed his conducted energy weapon and the male was taken custody.

The 36-year-old Guelph man was charged with assault, mischief, resist arrest, utter threats and attempt to disarm an officer. He was held in custody to appear in bail court.

At approximately 11:05 p.m. on Sept. 23, there was a disturbance involving several females near the corner of Wyndham Street and Carden Street.

Alcohol was (alleged to be) a factor for the females involved and as police were trying to sort things and deal with the situation, a male bystander began yelling profanities and tried to obstruct police efforts. Despite repeated direction from police to stay back and quiet himself, he did not.

Jared Opoku Bekoe, a 20-year-old Cambridge man, was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance. He was later released to appear in court on Nov. 3, 2017.
