Guelph police say a dog possibly interrupted the theft of a catalytic converter Wednesday morning.

Approximately 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to a Woodlawn Road East townhouse complex. One resident reported the catalytic converter was stolen from her Honda CRV overnight, while a second indicated her vehicle was damaged but the exhaust component was still intact.

The second victim had let her dog out approximately 2 a.m. at which time the dog immediately began barking towards the parking lot, possibly interrupting the theft.
