As on-line shopping grows in popularity, more and more people are having parcels delivered to their homes. If there are no specific instructions made with the on-line retailer, that merchandise is often being left in plain sight at home doors and porches. Over the last week, police have been receiving reports of parcel deliveries left by companies near doorways and porches that are being stolen. Police want to remind people to take the time to specify delivery conditions for your items that could include:

    •    Having parcels delivered to a nearby Post Office for pick-up at your leisure
    •    Requesting that the parcel is signed for in order to be delivered
    •    Having the parcels delivered to a trusted neighbour that is at home during the day
    •    Specify an inconspicuous or sheltered spot for the parcel to be left
