Downtown volunteer at social service agency has her SUV stolen

Police later arrested a female for being the passenger in a stolen vehicle

A Guelph female was arrested Thursday for allegedly riding in a stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday afternoon, the victim reported her Toyota SUV had been stolen while she volunteered for a social service agency in the downtown area. Police  reviewed video surveillance and identified the male and female allegedly responsible.

On Thursday, officers were conducting an unrelated investigation downtown when they arrested the female. During a search police found two cheques stolen during an earlier break and enter and credit cards in four different names.

A 30-year-old Guelph female is charged with occupying a stolen motor vehicle, four counts of possessing a stolen credit card, two counts of possessing stolen property and breach of probation. She will appear in a Guelph court March 18.

Police are still looking for the male involved.
