CITY OF GUELPH – On Oct. 2, 2016 at approximately 12:25 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Wellington Street near Fife Road in the City of Guelph. 

Police spoke with the driver of a 2007 Honda that entered into the checkpoint and determined that he had been consuming alcohol prior to being stopped. 

A roadside screening device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

26-year-old Alexander Mann, of Guelph, has been charged with over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on October 21, 2016.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
