Driver accused of using stolen plates

He faces possession of stolen property, unauthorized plates charges, among other charges

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Sept. 2, 2019 at approximately 8:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a sport utility vehicle that entered into a R.I.D.E. spot check on Gore Road near Townline Road.

During the investigation, the driver failed to surrender documentation for the vehicle and police query confirmed that the licence plates attached to the vehicle were stolen. 

Michael James Ward, 26-years-old of Scarborough was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code, use plates not authorized and fail to surrender permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and fail to surrender insurance card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. 

The accused with appear in Guelph Criminal court on Oct. 11, 2019 to answer to the charges.
