On Dec. 13, 2019 at 1:24 a.m., an adult male entered a Guelph Police Service R.I.D.E. program set up on Wyndham Street South in the City of Guelph. Upon speaking with the male, police observed a bottle of rum in the back seat with its original seal broken and also detected a strong odour of cannabis. The male then opened the centre console in order to retrieve the vehicle’s documents and police observed there to be cannabis readily available to the driver. A further search revealed the male was also in possession of 9.17 grams of psilocybin.

A 19-year-old Markham male has been charged with:
    •    Possession of substance in schedule III
    •    Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

He will appear in court on Jan. 24, 2020.
