Driver charged after vehicle clocked at more than 60 km/h over speed limit

On Saturday, March 31, 2018 at approximately 12 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a green sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 60 km/h.

Twenty-two-year-old Modupe Olatunbosun Okeowo of Cambridge has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 16, 2018. Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.  

On Monday, April 2, 2018 at approximately 1 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a red sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 50 km/h.

Thirty-three-year-old Toni Boutros of Leamington has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 16, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
