Driver charged after vehicle found travelling more than 50 km/h over speed limit

The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130km/h in an 80km/h zone

On Feb.18, 2018 at approximately 6 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 50 km/h.

Thirty-seven-year-old Catherine Bermingham of Guelph has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on April 4, 2018.Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
