Driver charged with impaired driving after fleeing collision scene

On Feb. 20, 2018 at approximately 5 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were advised of a multi-vehicle collision at Scotland Street and Belsyde Avenue, Town of Fergus. Witnesses advised that a female operating a Toyota car hit two vehicles stopped for the red light at Scotland Street. The driver then fled the scene. 

Officers located the driver and while speaking with her believed her to be under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

Thirty-six-year-old Dianne Morris of Fergus been charged with refuse to provide sample, impaired driving, dangerous driving, and two counts of fail to stop at scene of accident. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 23, 2018 to answer to the charges.
