Driver charged with impaired after calling 911

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Feb. 11, 2018 at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call from the area of Jones Baseline at Fourth Line, Township of Centre Wellington.

An officer located the complainant in a vehicle which was in the east ditch facing south.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed the belief that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

Twenty-six-year-old Christopher Stevenson of Fergus has been charged with care or control while impaired, care or control over 80, fail to comply with undertaking, open liquor and driving while under suspension. 

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on March 9, 2018.
