Driver clocked doing 118 km/h in a 60 km/h zone

A Guelph woman lost her licence and vehicle after she was caught driving nearly twice the speed limit Thursday morning, police say.

Just before 11 a.m., a member of the traffic unit was conducting speed enforcement on Speedvale Avenue West near Elmira Road North. He clocked an eastbound vehicle travelling 118 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

A 53-year-old Guelph woman was charged with speeding and stunt driving. Her driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and her vehicle impounded for 14 days.
