TOWNSHIP OF PILKINGTON - On Apr. 12, 2017 at approximately 3:40 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County Road 18 near Third Line in the Township of Pilkington. The officer observed a male driving a 2009 Volkswagon travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

25-year-old Benjamin Frick of Waterloo has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on June 7, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
