TOWNSHIP OF NORTH WELLINGTON - On Wednesday, March 6, 2019 just after midnight, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police along with Wellington North Fire Service and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service responded to a head-on collision involving a tractor trailer and a sport utility vehicle on Wellington Road 109 and Side Road 16 A, near Arthur.
The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. Glen Gary Nix, 72-years-old of Orangeville, has since died in hospital. The driver of the transport truck was uninjured.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators continue to investigate. The Wellington County OPP is asking anyone that may have witnessed this collision to please call 1-888-310-1122.
