Driver fails breath test, charges follow

On March 14, 2018 at approximately 2:10 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police was conducting patrol on Alma Street, west of Fall Street, Town of Rockwood. The officer stopped the driver of a sedan.

While speaking with the driver officers formed the opinion that she was impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

Twenty-eight-year-old Natalia Mieszczanska of Whitby has been charged with driving with over 80mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on April 13, 2018 to answer to the charge.
