On Jan. 5, 2018 at approximately 11 p.m., Guelph police officers were waived down by citizens who directed them towards a suspicious vehicle. Police discovered a male occupant that appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel of the car. Investigation lead to the male being arrested. William Shivrattan, a 22-year-old from Pickering, was arrested and charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by a drug and possession of a controlled substance.

He was given a Jan. 19, 2018 court date.
