Driver nabbed going more than double the speed limit

Man's licence suspended for 30 days, vehicle impounded for 15 days, in addition to charges

A 21-year-old Guelph man was charged with stunt driving and received an automatic, 30-day licence suspension after being caught driving more than twice the speed limit on Thursday afternoon.

Traffic unit officers were patrolling in the area of Victoria Road South and College Avenue West just before 1 p.m. when they spotted a vehicle travelling 110 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.

In addition to the charge and suspension, the vehicle was impounded for 15 days.
